All Hamilton County Democrats are urged to attend a delegate selection convention on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Doors will open at 12 noon and close at 1 p.m. sharp at the Iron Workers Union Building, Local 704, at 2715 Belle Arbor Avenue in Chattanooga, TN (click HERE for map).The County Convention is the first step in a two-step process for selecting delegates to the Democratic National Convention. At this meeting, we will elect delegates to attend the Congressional District Conventions on February 23, 2008. Delegates will be apportioned to each Democratic presidential candidate based on their performance in the February 5, 2008, Presidential Preference Primary. Presidential candidates given preference in Tennessee are Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Any Democrats who had previously declared for John Edwards or another candidate may declare for Clinton or Obama at the County Convention.
