Dear Voters,As I watch the economic collapse of some of the biggest and oldest financial institutions of this Country I wonder how did that happen. What led to this economic crisis and really a crisis of confidence in the American system. What I see as the reason for this was the deregulation of financial institutions under the current administration. Their reckless acts have led directly to the problems that we have. Regulations in and of themselves are not bad. In fact, they are necessary. To say that they're not is short-sided. We have speed limits, we have stop signs and financial institutions need the same things. What this administration did was take away the speed limits and the stop signs and said, " Go for Broke!" And they did. Unfortunately the "broke" has spread to the economy. I believe that the choice to be President is clear. Barack Obama is by far the best-trained and the most intellectually honest candidate. I believe that he can and will do what is in the best interest of this Country. I think that he has the ability to dig us out of the hole created by the current administration's last eight (8) years of reckless disregard for our economic security. Senator McCain is an honorable person but his view of regulations and his economic ideas are not those that will fix this economy, but rather push us farther along the reckless course that George Bush placed us. Our Country needs to elect a leader that has the ability to fix the problems facing America. That is Senator Barack Obama. I believe that in Senator Obama we have a person who can be a great President. I urge my fellow citizens to vote for this man. Sincerely, John Allen Brooks Post a Reply...
