The Hamilton County Democratic Party is happy to announce that Hamilton County Election Commission Administrator Bud Knowles has decided to extend the hours at the satellite Early Voting sites. The Brainerd Recreation Center and Northgate will open at 9 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. starting Saturday, October 25.Here is the press release from Mr. Knowles: Due to the extremely high turnout of Early Voting thus far the Hamilton County Election Commission has decided to extend the hours of our satellite locations by one hour. Instead of opening at 10am our Northgate and Brainerd Rec. Center sites will now open for voters at 9am. This change will take affect starting Saturday October 25th and will run through the end of early voting which is Thursday October 30th. We hope this change in hours will benefit voters and give them more of an opportunity to cast their votes early. We are seeing a record turnout so far and encourage all citizens of Hamilton County to take advantage of early voting to avoid probable long lines on Election Day. New hours starting Saturday October 25th will be as follows: Hamilton County Election Commission: 9am-8pm Saturday and 8am-8pm Monday-Thursday (Closed Sunday) Northgate Mall: 9am-8pm Saturday-Thursday (Closed Sunday) Brainerd Recreation Center: 9am-8pm Saturday-Thursday (Closed Sunday) To avoid long lines and confusion at the polls we strongly recommend that all registered voters consider taking advantage of one of our convenient early voting sites.
