Our Party BlogHave your say about all things democraticJanuary 30, 2008FLORIDA PRIMARY~HILLARY CLINTON WINS POPULAR VOTE
The Florida Primary results are below. With more than 1.6 million Florida voters going Democratic, Hillary Clinton took half the votes in Florida. The Florida delegates, however, will not be allowed to take their seats at the national convention. Hillary Clinton has vowed to fight to allow these delegates to vote at the convention. The DNC should allow the Florida delegates to vote! We don't want to lose Florida again. No, Hillary did not win big, nor was her victory in Florida legitimate. I hope as a party that we will support our Democratic National Committee which made the decision to allow Florida no delegates if that state broke with the national party over primary dates. Once the DNC made the decision, all the Democratic candidates agreed to abide by the DNC’s decision. All but Hillary Clinton. Haven’t we had enough of leaders who make their own rules? Hillary's campaign tactic in Florida is an example of the decisiveness that awaits us with Hillary Clinton. Obama’s win in South Carolina was a truer test of competence, as well as honor. Obama legitimately won in South Carolina with 55% of the vote and did not split with the national party to do so. Further, he won a larger majority while campaigning alongside Clinton and Edwards, plus while fighting the veiled bigotry of Bill Clinton. As committed Democrats, in regards to SC and FL, we should recognize only one victory - Obama's! Actually Hillary DID agree to abide by the DNC's decision. Unfortunately, she was lying at the time. I meant - DIVISIVENESS, DIVISIVENESS - not DECISIVENESS! While Hillary is certainly decisive, I meant that her campaign is DIVISIVE! If she agreed not to campaign and she did, she did not abide by her own agreement. So I would think-how many more agreements would she break. Sounds like someone trying to steal again as in 2004. That's being hypocritcal. Follow the rules and play it out, but if I had thought about voting for her-I would seriously have second thoughts. We've been bush-whacked twice; why get clubed by the Clinton's? Hillary did not campaing in Florida or Michigan.
