Our Party BlogHave your say about all things democraticMarch 15, 2008GREG BECK ELECTED AS DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE FOR SHERIFF
First, I am proud to say that the Hamilton County Democratic Party Executive Committee Members fulfilled their duty today and elected a Democratic nominee to run for county sheriff at our nominating caucus. The nominee is County Commissioner Greg Beck. He will run for sheriff for the Aug. 7 election.Second, let me say how proud I am of the two candidates who stepped forward to run for nomination: Commissioner Beck and former East Ridge detective Jim Winters. Both stepped up at a challenging time in our county, and both deserve lots of praise for doing so. Both were qualified candidates with outstanding backgrounds and experiences. During our caucus today, both candidates presented their reasons for running, answering tough questions from the party's executive members. During the voting, Commissioner Beck received a majority of votes to win the nomination. Third, I am proud of our nominating committee, chaired by Rodney Strong who was also the presiding chairman of the caucus. I want to thank each of them by name for putting together a nominating review process, recommendation process, and the caucus itself. They are the following: Rodney Strong, Pam Ladd, Rita Fehring, Margaret Franklin, Russell Gilbert, Bill Lusk, and Terry Lee. Finally, going forward, the party is pleased to support Commissioner Greg Beck as its nominee, for he is ready to run and ready to win. His involvement in the community, record as a public official, and experience with law enforcement make Commissioner Beck winnable. So I am asking all Democrats to be get involved and be ready to work hard to elect him as the next sheriff of our county. Furthermore, it is time to pull out your checkbook and send Greg Beck a donation for his campaign. [Make checks payable to "Beck for Sheriff" and mail to BECK FOR SHERIFF, P.O. I find it a shame when a deciding party for sheriff comes down to who is the most eloquent speaker. Not the persons background, honesty or intergrity, but how well they can present a speech in 5 minutes. Shame on all of you!!!!!
I have always been told that people in politics are dishonest, and I believe your party showed their dishonesty on March 15th. I for one will support a man that is not afflilated with any party and has not been corrupted by the system. Post a Reply...
