Sixty-eight Hamilton County Democratic delegates were selected to go to the 3rd Congressional District Convention that will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, in Clinton, Tennessee. In Clinton, four delegates will be selected at the District Convention to go to the Democratic National Convention.Of the 68 Hamilton County Democratic delegates selected Saturday, presidential candidates Hillary Clinton received 27 and Barack Obama received 41. "The caucus for delegates was well attended and went very smoothly, "said Hamilton County Party Chairman John Bailes. "And while both the Clinton and the Obama groups obviously want their candidate to win, they also want Democrats to win the White House this year. They understand we must be unified by November." The selection of 68 Democratic delegates took place at the Hamilton County Democratic Convention on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Iron Workers Union Building in Chattanooga. The County Convention was the first step in a two-step process for selecting delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Doesn't anyone think that Hillary's "plan" to wait for Texas and Ohio reminds them of another New Yorker's "plan" to wait until Florida? I mean there is more than simply a delegate count here - there is momentum and also showing that she can fundraise to beat the GOP (or even match Obama). She's out of money, out of momentum, and thinks that she can just wait around until til TX and OH? Don't think so. . . But what do you think? She's dead in the water. It is time for the superdelegate shift to Obama. The votes have shifted, the money has shifted, and if the superdelegates don't do their job and put this thing away for Obama we will be faced with the Clintons trying to bribe the rules committee at the convention with ambassadorships to Fiji and France and God knows what else to seat the bogus "delegates" from Michigan and Florida.
If the National party wants to avoid the party self destructing at direction of the "entitlement to the White House at any cost Clintons" they will pay for caucuses in MI and FL in late April.
